Kids Coach | Part-Time
Primary Purpose:
Lead and mentor youth in CrossFit classes, fostering a supportive, challenging, and fun environment that encourages personal growth and healthy habits. Represent the Keala Foundation with excellence both in and out of the gym.Essential Duties:
Lead or assist daily kids’ CrossFit classes at Keala Southside, Lihue, or Kekaha Fitness Centers.
Adhere to age-appropriate programming and adapt CrossFit principles for youth.
Delegate tasks to volunteers and support daily class components, including fitness, nutrition, and transportation.
Provide availability and communicate scheduling needs with the Keala Kids Head Coach.
Attend all weekly team meetings and community events.
Communicate with parents, handle membership inquiries, track attendance, and provide program information.
Support class needs such as kids’ safety, snack distribution, and gym maintenance.
Skills:
Leads by example, maintaining a high standard of excellence and professionalism.
Communicates clearly and effectively with kids of all ages and their parents.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
In-depth knowledge of CrossFit methodology, nutrition, and health practices for youth.
Skilled in group management and leading CrossFit Kids classes.
Clear and level-headed problem-solving abilities.
Aligns decisions with Keala Foundation’s values and culture of acceptance and excellence.
Qualifications:
2+ years of fitness experience and 1+ year of CrossFit coaching preferred, but not required.
CrossFit Level 1 Certificate and CrossFit Kids Certificate preferred, but not required.
Valid CPR/First Aid certification and a clear background check (Keala will provide upon hire).
Willingness to learn about Keala values in recovery and Hawaiian culture.
Schedule & Pay:
12-18 total work hours per week (6-10 Kids + Adult classes), with $25–$30/hour + mileage reimbursement where applicable.
Required Monday morning team meetings.
Flexibility for holidays, no-class days, and program adjustments.

Adult Coach | Part-Time
Primary Purpose:
Serve as the first point of connection between the Keala Foundation and its adult members, fostering a professional, welcoming, and challenging class environment. Support Keala’s mission to build healthy communities that uplift the youth of Hawaii by ensuring every athlete feels seen, encouraged, and held accountable in their fitness journey.Essential Duties:
Lead engaging, structured, and safe group classes that align with Keala’s coaching standards.
Maintain professionalism in appearance, communication, and conduct in all coaching settings.
Adhere to the ‘Coaches Checklist’ to ensure consistency in training delivery and athlete experience.
Provide availability for coaching shifts by Friday of the prior week.
Attend all quarterly team meetings and participate in ongoing coach education and professional development.
Offer and receive constructive feedback to uphold coaching excellence.
Foster a positive gym culture that encourages athlete growth and community involvement.
Communicate scheduling needs and concerns directly with Keala’s Affiliate Manager.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with members and staff.
Ability to manage group dynamics and create an inclusive and structured training environment.
Proficient in CrossFit methodologies and capable of scaling workouts appropriately.
Professionalism in both demeanor and appearance.

Qualifications:
2-3 years of coaching experience in a CrossFit environment preferred.
CrossFit Level 1 Certificate (or willingness to complete an 8-week development program for new coaches).
Commitment to shadowing and completing an extensive onboarding process before leading classes independently.
Willingness to support Keala’s community events and fundraisers as part of a nonprofit organization.
Schedule & Pay:
Compensation: $30 per class (outcome-based pay, not hourly).
Free Keala affiliate membership.
Access to training facilities outside normal class hours.
Required attendance at quarterly team meetings and professional development sessions.

Youth Program Transportation Driver | Part-Time
Primary Purpose:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team to transport Kauai's youth, aged between 5 and 19 years old, from their schools to the Keala Foundation's after-school programs. This role requires strong driving skills, excellent interpersonal communication, the ability to navigate various routes effectively and flexibility to adapt to changes in traffic, weather and attendance. As a Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely pick-ups and drop-offs of program participants and connecting with the youth during the process.Responsibilities:
Operate a 15 passenger van to pick up youth from their respective schools and drop them off at designated locations Monday thru Thursday, ensuring to arrive at destinations on schedule
Research and plan for traffic, construction and weather delays
Use navigation applications to determine the best route(s)
Interact with youth participants professionally at all times
Ensure that the vehicle is always fueled and ready for use
Arrange for vehicle repairs as needed with Maintenance Manager
Keep mileage records and repair records up-to-date
Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Driver, with a strong understanding of route driving.
Familiarity with driving regulations and safety practices
Strong communicate skills and the ability to connect effectively with youth
Excellent time management skills, ensuring timely pick-ups and drop-offs while maintaining focus on participant connection and interaction
Ideal candidates will have an understand of or personal experience with substance abuse recovery, such as the 12-steps
A valid Hawaii driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record
Ability to pass a background check & drug test
Work Schedule:
Part-time position with scheduled 20 hours per week
Mondays through Thursdays, 1PM-6PM

Peer Recovery Mentor | Subcontractor, Part Time
Primary Purpose:
Provide peer recovery mentorship support under the supervision of the Lead Peer Recovery Coach and Project ManagerEssential Duties:
Prepare for a High Quality Youth Intervention Environment
Provide mentoring services to participants
Respond to call-outs and emergencies as needed
Support participants in recovery toward self-improvement
Document any incidents, or injuries as necessary
Support participant by modeling positive behavior
Assist coach in CrossFit classes
Ensure youths adhere to camp schedule (including wake-up calls and lights out)
Minimum Requirements:
Three (3) years of proven working experience in the addiction/recovery field
Knowledge of 12 steps to recovery
Lived experience of having struggled w/mental health issues and/or substance use disorder
